Picture framing
From a single work to a complete hang, we use conservation and archival materials to give each frame a long, considered life.
Art care, considered
For more than 30 years, Bespoke Art Services has brought together expert framing, trusted conservation and practical collection advice—so each work can be seen, understood and cared for at its best.
Founder-led care
Craft, research and conservation in conversation.
What we do
Each commission begins with close looking: the object, its setting, and the outcome you want to achieve.
01
From a single work to a complete hang, we use conservation and archival materials to give each frame a long, considered life.
02
We connect clients with Courtauld-trained and National Trust-accredited specialists, selected for the object at hand.
03
Reports and dossiers supported by scholars, art-analysis laboratories and restoration experts—where authorship or history needs closer investigation.
04
Practical visual guidance for displays that make collections feel coherent and alive.
Our approach
We combine hands-on knowledge with an exacting network of specialists. The result is personal advice that respects both the artwork and the way you live with it.

Deliver with care
Built to protect
The materials and handling behind a frame matter. We use acid-free mount board, conservation-standard tapes and glues, and 100% cotton gloves when working with art. Where a work calls for it, cotton rag board and specialist glazing offer an extra layer of protection.

Materials
Acid-free and archival by default.
Glazing
UV filtering through to museum anti-reflective options.
Handling
A careful process from consultation to installation.
Conservation & research
From surface cleaning to technical imaging, specialist investigation helps us make an informed recommendation for every artwork.

Before
An etching prior to treatment.

After
The same work after conservation.

Technical imaging
X-ray and infrared investigation can reveal another layer of an artwork’s history.
Clients & collaborators
Our work has supported leading arts institutions, galleries, collectors, artists and designers. We are proud of those long-standing relationships.
Experience
BAS was founded by Martin West, previously manager of Academy Framing at the Royal Academy of Arts and now an official recommended framer for the Academy.
Whether the work is a family photograph, a private collection or an exhibition, the same attention to materials, visual balance and clear communication applies.
The BAS point of view
“Art does not need more noise around it. It needs the right conditions to endure and to be seen.”
